PERSONAL SACRIFICE

Personal sacrifice is inspiring to others, it brings hope to discouraged souls: it produces growth and maturity. There is no true leadership or responsibility without sacrifice. Doing the right thing always pays off, probably not right away, but the momentary relief of an easy solution is nothing compared to the eternal joy of choosing right. When you selflessly give for another, you build an honourable reputation, and promotion will surely follow. Ella Wheeler Wilcox captures the essence of sacrifice beautifully when she says that “there are two kinds of people on earth today. Just two kinds of people no more, I say. Not the good and the bad; for it is well known that the good are half bad & the bad are half good. No! The 2 kinds of people I mean are those who lift and those who lean.”
